BOTOX® (Botulinum Toxin A) Treatment

In the San Francisco Bay Area, Botox injections are an easy and commonly used way to rejuvenate the face. Dr. Sam P. Most has years of experience with Botox injection, and personally performs his botox injections (increasingly uncommon in plastic surgery offices!). Here's what you need to know about Botox:

The facts on BOTOX®

Botox is a highly purified product of the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum that has been used for medicinal purposes in the United States for decades. Botox is FDA-approved for cosmetic use.

BOTOX® inactivates the muscle by interfering with nerve signal transmission to the muscle. This works well to reduce muscle activity that causes wrinkles in areas such as the forehead, crow’s feet, and glabella (frown lines between the eyebrows).

In many states, nurses, physicians' assistants as well as physicians may perform BOTOX® injections. It is important that the person who performs your treatment has knowledge of facial anatomy, especially the nerve and muscle anatomy, as this is the primary focus of the injection. If you have any questions, you may ask your provider which muscles s/he plans to inject and what effect this will have. Dr. Most has performed thousands of injections in his practice in Seattle. Patients have come to him from overseas for his expertise in this area. Dr. Most has been interviewed for TV and by print media to discuss his expertise in facial injection techniques.

Am I a candidate for BOTOX® treatment?

If you have any lines/wrinkles that are bothersome to you, you may be treatable with BOTOX®. If you are interested in learning more, a personalized evaluation can be arranged with Dr. Most.
